Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) will usher in the return of Different Voices and Common Experiences on Friday, August 9, at 5:30PM with a public opening reception. The exhibition, which is in its fourteenth year, will be located in the Benedum Gallery until August 30, 2019. Different Voices and Common Experiences is presented by the Northern West Virginia Center for Independent Living (NWVCIL).
This exhibition has been assembled with the intention of both showcasing the talent of such a unique and diverse segment of our population, and also promoting awareness within our region of the effects of mental illness.
Submissions were accepted on a first come first served basis. All participants have been affected by mental health issues, either personally or through close friends and family members. “I’m so pleased to help create the Different Voices and Common Experiences art show again this year, its 14th year,” says Paulette Southerly, NWVCIL exhibit coordinator. “I’m incredibly grateful to connect with so many talented, artistic individuals who are passionate about their art, and I’m excited to be a part of something that is so important to so many individuals.”
MAC invites the public to attend this magnificent event and welcomes donations to support those who live with mental health disorders. MAC is located at 107 High Street, Morgantown, WV. Inquiries should be directed to email@example.com or 304-292-3325.
