12 Days of Giving

Description

There are no partridges in a pear tree or six geese a-laying in the United Way of Mon and Preston Counties’ 12 Days of Giving. In fact, there are no birds at all; instead, there are 12 $100 gift cards to local businesses up for grabs, thanks to a promotion, sponsored by Steptoe and Johnson PLLC, that will give donors a chance to win.
 
The 12 Days of Giving will run from Dec. 1-12, with a different local business’ gift card featured each day. To enter to win a gift card, make a donation of at least $10 by texting DAYSOFGIVING to 91999. For every $10 you give, you’ll receive one entry for that day’s prize. For example, $20 gets you two entries; $30 gets you three.
 
One winner will be randomly chosen each day from that day’s donations to win the $100 gift card. Thanks to the sponsorship from Steptoe and Johnson, money donated during the promotion will go toward the 2023 United Way Campaign. This is the second year for the promotion, although last year’s event lasted for 25 days.
 
“We’re excited to bring this fundraiser back again this year,” said Amanda Posey, director of marketing and communications for the local United Way. “In addition to raising money for the United Way, this event also helps support local businesses both through the purchasing of the gift cards and promoting them throughout the 12 days. It’s a great way for us to draw attention to the shop small, shop local movement. It truly benefits everyone involved.”

Friday, Dec. 2: Mountain Man Axe Throwing
Saturday, Dec. 3: The Hitching Post
Sunday, Dec. 4: Apothecary Ale House
Monday, Dec. 5: Nonno Carlo
Tuesday, Dec. 6: Keglers
Wednesday, Dec. 7: Miller’s Eats and Sweets
Thursday, Dec. 8: Tanner’s Alley 
Friday, Dec. 9: Screech Owl Brewing
Saturday, Dec. 10: The Wow Factory 
Sunday, Dec. 11: The Lakehouse Restaurant
Monday, Dec. 12: Almost Heaven Desserts
