Looking for ways to give back to your local community while you're stuck at home? Attend our virtual volunteer training and become a wish-granting volunteer now so we're prepared to grant all of the wishes that are waiting -- as soon as it's safe to do so.
The Northern West Virginia regional office is hosting its next volunteer training via Zoom on Thursday, April 30, from 6-7:30 p.m.
To become a wish volunteer, individuals must be at least 21 years of age, pass a criminal background check and attend a one-time training session.
TO SIGN UP:
If you're interested in joining, please email Jackie Auten, Regional Manager for the Zoom link information. Her email is jauten@greaterpawv.wish.org
MORE DETAILS:
Make-A-Wish is currently looking for new volunteers in the following Northern West Virginia counties*: Barbour, Berkeley, Braxton, Brooke, Doddridge, Gilmer, Grant, Hampshire, Hancock, Hardy, Harrison, Jefferson, Lewis, Marion, Marshall, Mineral, Monongalia, Morgan, Ohio, Pendleton, Pleasants, Pocahontas, Preston, Randolph, Ritchie, Taylor, Tyler, Tucker, Upshur, Webster, Wetzel and Wood.
As members of "wish teams," volunteers are the faces of Make-A-Wish. Working together, the wish team is assigned to a child in their area, meets one-on-one with the family and aids in determining the most suitable wish for the child.
Wish kids and their families are your colleagues, your neighbors, your friends and relatives. Join the Make-A-Wish community and help us as we transform lives, one wish at a time — right in your backyard.
