Every year there is a new buzzword that leaders are nudged to pay attention to and integrate the meaning of the word into the workplace. As our employees tentatively slink back into the workplace, ready for the newness of well, being AT work, leaders need to prepare themselves for the not so normal.
Agility is more than a buzzword in the workplace today. It is very likely that your organization has undergone some kind of transformation to support an agile environment. And as you bring your employees back, leaders need to be cognizant of the powerful macro forces that will come with stability. Sweeping globalization, rapidly advancing technology, unprecedented workforce diversity and relentless competition are all stacked in piles on your desk, ready and waiting for you to take the reins.
As much as you want to think that your workforce has the skill set for agility, this year has tested even the most flexible personality. So why is agility the key to finishing the year with robust results?
In a recent study from WILEY, 2,500 business professionals were surveyed on how to get a better handle on agility, and what the survey produced was the answer that AGILITY might actually be the key 21st-century competency organizations are striving to develop.

- 95% of managers, directors and executives said that agility - the ability to adapt quickly and easily - is more important to their organization's success now than it was five years ago.
